A Love for Helping Others
My profession has allowed me to help people with a myriad of dental issues, to improve their oral and overall health and make them happy with their smile. Dentistry is a phenomenal profession, blending medicine with art. It allows me to meet and spend time with people from all walks of life, and build lasting friendships that are personally rewarding.
I love the trust a patient places in me. I love being able to make a person feel at ease and keep him or her comfortable during treatment. I enjoy treating my young patients, ensuring their first dental experience is positive and creating a lifetime dental patient. I enjoy our older patients, who share stories of their lives and experiences. I savor the conversations I have throughout the day and how those expand my world and make me a better person.
As a dentist, I am drawn to help create beautiful and healthy smiles for my patients. Every patient’s needs and desires are unique. It’s an incredible moment when I hand patients a mirror following treatment, and hear them say, “Wow!”

One of the great things about dentistry is the continual improvement: New treatment options, materials, and technology make the care experience and results even better for patients.
I complete many hours of continuing dental education every year, always with the goal of providing the best options for my patients. I’ve learned from leaders in the fields of cosmetic dental procedures, restorative dentistry, implant dentistry, and sleep medicine dentistry, to name a few.

I grew up in the Wheaton-Glen Ellyn area. I graduated from Glenbard South High School in Glen Ellyn, where I met my wife Cherie. We live on a small farm in Plano.
Cherie and I have been married for 35 years as of December 2015. We have two sons: Brendan graduated from Northwestern University with his master’s degree and Kevin graduated from Notre Dame in May 2016. We currently have a Bernese Mountain Dog, Cubbie, and a horse, Anya, who’s a Norwegian Fjord.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me kayaking on the Fox River. I try to get on the river several times a week and compete in races over the summer. I also help with canoe trips on the Fox River for the Conservation Foundation.
I have coached youth sports through the high school level (Aurora Central Catholic High School): soccer, basketball, and baseball. I love coaching and attending sporting events with Cherie and our sons.
One final note: we have a 90-plus-year-old patient whose motto is that he “wants to wear out before he rusts out.” I’ve adopted that motto, as well.
